Security and Safety
DESIGN :
This property has been designed with many security and safety considerations included. This has permitted the owners a significant peace of mind and allowed for very favorable insurance rates.
- The entire property is fenced (over 1,980 linear feet)
- There are three access/egress gates for vehicular use. The Main Gate and the Service gates are both 16' wide and have iron gates with remote control arms.
- The Both gates may be opened: manually (in event of power loss), via control pads both inside and outside using proprietary access codes, via handheld "remotes "
- The Primary Gate can also be controlled from inside the Main Residence via the Intercom; a "Firebox" accessed by Police or Fire Department personnel; via Cellular Phone
- Every room has at least two separate means to exit (safety feature in the event of fire or intrusion)
- The Master Bedroom is connected to a safe room designed to withstand tornado or CAT 5 hurricane winds. A "secret" access permits the safe room to provide protection from intruders. The room serves as an additional bathroom during normal operation.
- Safe rooms have also been constructed off the Main Residence Kitchen and in the Guest Cottage.
- The Main Residence is serviced by a Remote Alarm service covering both Break-in and fire. Emergency services reach the property in under 6 minutes
- Fire and Carbon Monoxide alarm sensors are installed in the Main Residence, the Guest Cottage, and the Garage
- A Fire Sprinkler System exists in the Main Residence, the Garage, the Guest Cottage and the Stables.
- The property has a Dry Hydrant installed. Fire department can access the sprinkler system from the front entrance and the North side of the Pond.
- A wall on the southeast side provides significant wind protection to the Main residence, while the Grandroom does the same for the Northwest side.
- The roof is covered with metal to reduce danger from hot embers caused by nearby brush fires. Walls are covered by cement Hardy Planking for same reason.
- a 17,500 KW generator is installed in a protected area to provide whole-house power during power outages.
- All electric supply lines are installed underground from the street.
- Communications have 3 sources for redundancy: Cellular, Hard-line (DSL and UVerse), Satellite
- A sewage processing plant permits Sewage processing to continue even in the event of catastrophic flooding that would render normal drain fields inoperable.
- All openings are of Dade approved construction and have coverings as well to protect from Hurricane damage. Last inspection July 2021.
- 40+ Cameras with backup recording are placed throughout the property both indoors and outdoors and can be viewed remotely via computer or cellular phones.
CAMERAS:
The more than 40 cameras installed around the property allow the owner to monitor access to the property, activity in the aviaries and the stables, as well as activity in and around the residences. There are essentially 7 different systems:
